2nd Amendment Rights... but not really
There are so many things that were said in 2020 that just went beyond normal repetitiveness into the cliche. Some words I'd like to never hear as common parlance again are "Social Distancing" "Unprecedented" and "Unconscionable."
But this is a distraction to what I really want to talk about. The Biden/Harris Plan https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/ for Gun Safety. If you haven't read it, you should. It outlines some very aggressive limitations and outright violations of the 2nd Amendment. For me as a small business owner, it represents a serious hit to my livelihood.
Here are some highlights:
Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.
Buyback the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities.
Reduce the stockpiling of weapons (you can only buy one gun a month).
The examples cited on the Biden campaign webpage are the Clinton 1994 ban and current California law. The Clinton ban had a clause in it to sunset in 10 years. But the Republicans had control of both the House and the Senate in 1994. There will be no limitations to what the new administration decides to do and it will most definitely be against the wishes of at least half the country.
Rather than espouse my opinions on this whole thing, I urge you to read it for yourself.
